ARTISTS STATEMENT

I was brought up in Lochinver , a small fishing village in Assynt, NW Highlands. I have created "things" ever since I can remember. I think everyone can "make" art (after all art means "to make") but are discouraged because of the baggage of realism that has pervaded western art for centuries until thankfully photography came along. I've never felt the need for formal training and am inspired by the sea and people I meet. I like the idea of art being temporary and recycled. Animation is probably my favourite medium as I love sound and images together. You can see some of my animos at
