ARTIST'S STATEMENT

James Allen Bloomfield was born in Hamilton County Ohio in 1945 In his own words "On the Banks of the Ohio". He Now lives on Croley Mt. Rd. in Jackson county Kentucky. Approaching Jackson county from the north through Madison county James says you can see a line of mountains appear suddenly on the distant horizon. In my younger days after traveling away from home sometimes for years at a time I never felt quite at home until I could see these mountains. I love the mountains, It was here in the eastern highlands that my ancestors settled in the late 18th century. During the latter part of the depression years my grandfather moved his family north to Ohio to find work. He lived out the remainder of his life there as a farmer.
