ARTISTS STATEMENT

Born in 1958. Lancashire childhood. Hated school, loved university (degree in philosophy). Came out as a gay man and moved to Dorset in 1979. Since 1984 I haven't worked due to long periods of mental distress. Now, in recovery, I have taken pen, pencil and paint after a very long break. I can't explain my work but somehow it related to my spirituality. We are sacred beings within the 'divine milieu'. I've become involved with the Quakers and believe passionately in the inward light and finding 'that of God' in every person. 'Everything that lives is Holy.'
