ARTIST'S
STATEMENT
My
work is an expression of the present moment, my present mental state,
being in a constant state of movement
and impermanence.
I
am interested in the boundaries between mental disturbance and modern
art, concerned with the question: how these
different nodes of thought appear and disappear, using art as a
meduium to find answers.
I
create new mature symbols from childish naive scribbels. Everything
has the need to develop, to grow into a world of
uncertainty and freedom. The use of very basic materials, like marker
pens, pencils, newspaper, found cloth etc gives
my paintings and drawings the innocence they need, in order to express
various forms of thinking.
The
creative act is similar to the act of meditation, to sit still ,
unable to run away from the mind , watching how an
unconscious thought becomes conscious through my work.
In
fact, if we want to discover the boundaries between mental illness
and modern art, we need to be aware of our own
disabilities.
