ARTIST'S STATEMENT

I was born in 1968 in Moscow, Russia. My love for art began when I was 8 years old. I came to live in the UK in 1985. Since then I have travelled and moved frequently round
the British Isles. I always had a strong, experiential connection with Eastern Mysticism, which I also studied at Lancaster University. This led to my working for His Holiness the
Dalai Lama in 1996. The experience completely sealed my belief system: from the daily, mundane application of compassion and generosity - to the supramundane intelligence of
Clear Light. All the inspiration for my art work comes unexpectedly in a flash of a multidimensional image. The challenge is to transcribe this into a two dimensional image on paper.
I currently live with my daughter near Samye Ling, Tibetan Monastery, in the Scottish Borders, with two very smart cats!
